Sipping coffee before a meal can suppress appetite by 35%, plus boost fat-burning metabolic rate by 5%, according to extensive research at Vanderbilt University in Nashville.

The study-proven dose: 250 mg of caffeine daily, taken either in supplement form or by sipping two cups of coffee or four cups of tea.

2 cups brewed double strength coffee
1 pint coffee ice cream
6 cups ice
1 1/2 cups milk

Place coffee, ice cream, ice and milk in blender. Mix until smooth. Top with whipped cream and cinnamon.

COFFEE SMOOTHIE

3 to 4 tablespoons instant coffee powder
1 cup milk (nonfat okay)
1 cup vanilla frozen yogurt
1 cup frozen bananas

Pour liquid ingredients into the blender first. Yogurt is a liquid ingredient. Add bananas.

Put cover on and blend until smooth.
